Sophie Shi

Sophie Shi is a partner in Global Accounting Consulting Services in PwC, and has been appointed by the Ministry of Finance, the standard setter in China, as member of the 2nd and 3rd China Accounting Standard Consulting Committee.

Sophie has over 20 years’ experience in audit and accounting consulting services for financial services. She is specialised in the financial instrument accounting standards and other relevant accounting standards for financial services.

She provides accounting consulting to clients and audit engagement teams. The financial services she has served including banks, securities companies and asset management companies etc. She was involved in numerous IFRS 9 implementation, securitisation transactions and preference shares/perpetual bonds issuances, as the accounting specialist. Furthermore, she is also leading the accounting technical review for financial institutions audited by PwC and listed in A/H shares or in IPO process.

Sophie also continuously participates in the accounting setting activities initiated by the Ministry of Finance and provides accounting consulting to regulators.

Before joining Global ACS, Sophie had more than 10 years’ financial services audit experience in China and UK, and had extensive experience in the commercial and investment banking industry.
