Kate Zhan is a Deals partner at PwC China in the Shanghai office. She has been specialising in valuation advisory services since 2006 and has extensive knowledge and experience in valuations for deal pricing purposes, tax planning purposes and financial reporting purposes.
Kate has provided valuation advisory services to Chinese companies, MNCs as well as private equity funds. Her clients cover a wide range of industries, including new energy vehicles, pharmaceutical and healthcare, new retailing, frontier technologies and more. Being proficient in the value drivers from different kinds of industries, she has developed strong technical capabilities in a broad spectrum of industries.
In recent years, Kate has mainly served PEVC clients, and been involved extensively in the valuation of frontier technology start-ups, covering the industries of chips, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, biomedical science, IoT, fintech, SaaS, big data, etc. Based on her critical views on start-ups of different stages and different industries, she deploys innovative valuation technics and pricing models in her work.
Besides, as one of the key in-charged partner in data asset task force, Kate has been devoted to the data asset valuation study, and has led PwC published key achievements co-branded with several national Data Exchanges.
Kate is a Certified Public Valuer (CPV), a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and a non-membership of Certified Public Accountant in China (CICPA).
