Background

  • Joyce Mei is a partner of PwC’s transfer pricing practice in Shanghai. She has over 16 years of experiences in advising multinational companies on transfer pricing in China.

Relevant experience

  • Joyce has helped multinationals from diverse industries and accumulated experiences in a wide range of transfer pricing practicing areas, i.e., transfer pricing compliance documentation, transfer pricing planning, dispute resolution and bilateral advanced pricing arrangement (APA). 
  • She has provided global transfer pricing planning, intangible arrangement and business structuring services to many Chinese-headquartered multinationals. She also provided transfer pricing compliance services including Country by Country Reporting (‘CbCR’), master file, global transfer pricing local files to many multinationals. She has been closely in discussion with Chinese-headquartered multinationals regarding the updates of Pillar 1 and Pillar 2, and is a core member of PwC Pillar 2 Task Force in China, specialised in BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2 analysis.
  • She has also been involved in assisting several Korean multinationals to successfully reach more than ten bilateral APAs and renewal of bilateral APAs with Chinese tax authorities. She also assisted to successfully reach the first unilateral APA involving Chinese-headquartered multinational with Chinese tax authorities. 
  • Joyce used to worked in PwC Singapore. She is familiar with Singapore transfer pricing regulations and practice and has been involved in several value chain transformation and tax planning projects for multinationals covering the Asia Pacific region.
  • Joyce’s major client portfolio includes the companies in the retail and consumer (‘R&C’), auto, high technology, shipping and other various industries.

Qualifications

  • Joyce holds a Bachelor’s degree in law from Fudan University. Joyce is a member of the China Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
