Charles Chan is a Partner in the Corporate Tax group at PwC Hong Kong. He has over 20 years of experience in providing tax consulting services to local, regional, multi-national and listed companies. Charles also has experience working in the Profits Tax Section of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department.
Charles has extensive experience in tax planning for multinational enterprises, including overall international tax planning, business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, pre-IPO tax planning, Hong Kong tax risk assessments, and planning for Hong Kong companies to apply for tax resident certificates. Furthermore, he has assisted clients from various industries in resolving disputes and tax audits, covering a range of issues such as offshore claims, capital gain claims, transfer pricing, cross-border services, and financing arrangements.
Charles leads PwC's Hong Kong National Tax Policy Services team, which proactively monitoring the latest developments in Hong Kong tax and disseminates insights across the firm and to clients. His deep understanding of the legislative intent, operational nuances, and practical implementation of Hong Kong tax policies enables him to guide clients through evolving regulatory landscapes.
Charles holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (major in Accounting and Finance) from the University of Hong Kong. Besides, he is a member of HKICPA and ACCA. He was the Co-Chairman of the Taxation Committee of ACCA Hong Kong branch.
