Pink Friday is an annual celebration to support our LGBTQ colleagues, and SHINE, our employee-led LGBTQ network in Mainland China and Hong Kong, organised virtual celebrations on 20 November 2020.
As we shared on the virtual celebrations, visibility is an important part of being an ally to the LGBTQ community, and many partners and staff wore pink and held team gatherings to support our LGTBQ colleagues.
Together, we’ll collaborate closely and actively to make sure PwC continues to be a diverse and inclusive work environment.
In FY20 Deals D&I Task Force created a Nationwide Deals D&I Survey for us to understand more about Deals group's profile, how people think D&I impacts their work environment and what is relevant to the team in the broad spectrum of D&I. The Task Force also want to know what serves the team best and what Deals D&I focus should be. There were almost 600 people responded across offices of PwC China.
PwC was a proud sponsor of TEDxTinHauWomen which was held in Hong Kong on 6 December 2019. PwC colleagues attended the event with talks from inspiring females and an opportunity to network with the other 800 guests.
TEDxTinHauWomen and part of the global TEDWomen community brings together a global community of people interested in exploring how change begins: with innovative thinkers who catalyse ideas towards action. With the aim to continue to bring value to those around us, engage our community and persevere in creating social connections and driving positive actions.
PwC were a lead brand sponsor of the landmark TEDxTinHauWomen event in Hong Kong. This positions PwC alongside many of our clients and targets as a premier sponsor
One of the survey results, Culture is by far the most popular D&I topic that respondents wanted Deal D&I Task Force to focus on. As such, Deals D&I Task Force organised a special Mid-Autumn Festival Mooncake Party on Tuesday 10 September 2019 at 7 different offices across the region (Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenzhen). Each location had at least 4 different type of mooncakes to try.
Deals D&I Task Force would like to develop a platform where views are shared and voices are heard.
In the First D&I Editorial we shared:
Have you had another busy season? Hectic work schedules and endless work to deal with are most likely to cause anxiety, even anger and helplessness...
Have you brought these negative emotions when you back home, affecting your relationships with your children, loved ones, and even your parents.
Do you know your mental health? Do you manage your emotions? Do you want to learn how to have a positive attitude?
Don't worry! We invited a national psychological consultant to help us, share experiences and answer our questions, offer different points of view and learn to look through diversified perspectives.
With more female colleagues at Tax, we built the “Tax Mulan” platform for colleagues to discuss work and share life. Besides, avoiding unconscious gender discrimination is also high on our agenda. Just to give an example, when roses are gifted to our female colleagues on Women’s Day, male colleagues also receive festive chocolate to share the joy.
To celebrate “Mulan’s festival”, organised flower arrangement experience by Ichyio School of Ikebana. We invited an elegant female master with great creative inspiration to give a lecture. Each of us had a fun and creative time.
